Imperial Fists Primaris Centurion Conversion "We need bigger guns"

Welcome back to Imperial Fists painting project part 2 (click link to part 1) Ever since the Centurions came out I was not a fan of the model, the concept idea I was fine, so when the Primaris Space marine strain came out it was always on the cards to upgrade these bad boys.

I included this image just so you can get a feel for how big I have upgraded them.

Even compared to a Primarch they are all most as tall.

I kit bashed these guys using the legs of the Primaris Inceptors, Heavy Intercessor helmets and greystuff tubing for a more armoured look to all cables.

As previously discussed I'm not a fan of painting yellow with browns so I have been experimenting with airbrushing purple up to white and then giving it an airbrush yellow ink wash.

I have been using Liquitex Acrylic Inks.

Then they are gloss varnished, inked and weathered.

Imperial Fists - Whats your new project?

So what is on your hobby table at the moment?  For me its been three weeks of non stop playing with shades of yellow.  You've guest it, it's another Imperial Fists army.

I have a back catalogue of blogging to do, including my whole Necron army which is now complete and I have expanded my Death Guard by over 50% and, which is also finished.  For now though I thought I would share my latest creations and hint at what will be coming next over the coming weeks - including Imperial Fists Primaris Centurions and trying my damndest to create a shade for yellow which does not include brown :)  Enjoy.

WIP Roboute Guilliman - with NMM Gold Armour pt5

Welcome back to part 5 and he is finally finished.  I added the eagles head from his original base and a column from the Kill Team box set, everything else has been carved from Foamex board (the stuff sign-writers print onto) which is condensed foam.  I find Foamex board has a lovely quality for doing scenery of this type, if you score it and snap it gives a great masonry texture in the break perfect for rubble.

WIP Roboute Guilliman - with NMM Gold Armour pt4

Welcome back to part 4 and as you can see, he is almost.  I just have a couple of touch ups and some  details to do, but for the most part he is complete.

This is a strange thing to admit but this was my first attempt at flame and it quite tricky to make it look right, hopefully you will agree it looks a little bit like flame :)

Next time he will be on his base :)

WIP Roboute Guilliman - with NMM Gold Armour pt2

Welcome back to part 2 of Roboute Guilliman WIP, as you can see I actually ventured past shades of brown.  I was getting bored of just using the same colours all the time, so I decided to see how the Ultra Marine Logos would work with his gold armour.  I'm interested see what you think of this gold and blue combination :)

The Great Crimson Fists Sale (Part 4) and finally all the rest :)

Welcome to (part 4) of the Great Crimson Fists sale, If you have read (part 1, 2 or 3) you can skip this bit :)

It has been a 30+ year love affair but all things must come to an end.  With a sad sad heart its time to say good buy and let someone else take on the mantle of Chapter Master of the Crimson Fists.

This army has taken many years to collect and paint and it is obvious that the later painted figures are better as my painting style changed, from; table top standard i.e. just get it on the board to the later -me beginning to slow down and enjoy painting.
